How to leverage a brand’s Social Media presence by using popular TV formats

Yesterday, our client Wilkinson was covered by the WuV Online, talking about the experience of sponsoring the RTL based TV show ”Ich bin ein Star – Holt mich hier raus!“. This easily readable interview with Dirk Hohnberg, Group Product Manager Male Shaving Systems & Toiletries also featured, to our great delight, the Facebook measure. The Facebook campaign was delevoped by JWT’s Social Media experts JWTbuddies together with Wilkinson and started almost 2 weeks ago. So we thought we could take this opportunity to give a short summary what is happening on Facebook and why:

We are all aware of what is happening in the TV show ”Ich bin ein Star – Holt mich hier raus!“. Celebrities are motivated to eat living insects or swim in smelly sludge, disgusting challenges that normally nobody would do. But we can also study human manners that pop up like old archaic traits when few people that do not really know each other, come together, live together in a condensed space and have to work together to get food, for example.
